First of all, my CV is currently available in english .
My name is Pierre Hageman, and I am a 27 year old graphic designer, animator, and motion designer based in Brussels, Belgium.
I am french and english speaking and have notions of dutch. My mother language is french.
I have always been passionate about technology, and have been in contact with computer before even writing. Paradoxically, I was also extremely interested in nature, with the help of documentaries and observation in my neighborhood.
As a teenager I began to love writing and drawing. Well I was better at that than in listening to the course! Also, I fell totally in love with the cinema. It was the time of American Beauty, Fight Club, Ghost Dog, La Cité des Enfants Perdus, and so much more that decided my following studies.
I entered the IAD cinema school as soon as my high school was over. But I was too young, and directing people requires maturity, communication, and authority that I was unfortunately lacking as an 18 year old young adult. But I learned a great deal of this year, enough to say that I would be a fool to consider all this time lost.
The next year I entered a university of communication but wanted to go back to arts. That’s what I did, beginning IAD school again in the multimedia section.
There I found balance between knowledge, technology, and cinema. I enjoyed it a lot, even if I had not ever been touching a graphic program before. My learning curve was good, and I achieved the master of multimedia director with a grade.
But as soon as I finished these studies, the 2008 economic crash occurred. With no stable employment available, I was, and am still, forced to be a freelancer, far from my first career view which was to work with seniors around me. I do my best, I am good at self-teaching, and I am curious which helps looking at new possibilities with a fresh eye.
I hope this text helped you to understand who’s Pierre Hageman.
